Description
Hi, I’m Tanya—originally from Russia, I recently got my master's degree in International Education through a Fulbright scholarship at the University of Minnesota. I love languages and have an undergrad degree in linguistics.
Some of the most favorite volunteer projects I've been involved in are eco-projects at several farms in Vermont, community interpreting (Russian-English; English-Spanish), and coordination work at theater festivals in Russia and Bulgaria (none of this through Workaway, though). I have been involved in theater for quite a while and I am deeply passionate about Argentine tango and folklore dancing! While involved in theater, I realized meeting new and different people helps create the dynamic adventure of life. And tango has taught me discipline while enjoying the social interaction with those in the warm and welcoming community of tango dancers worldwide.
I'm a helper at heart, always eager to learn, share knowledge, and immerse myself in the rich tapestry of cultures. Getting to know diverse people and their traditions (and traditional music and dances!) is the spice of life for me, and I firmly believe that life is a journey of exploration and ongoing discovery. So I’m open to any new opportunity and hope to make your little corner of the world a better place, or at least make someone’s day:)
I'm very adaptable, adventurous, and have a positive outlook on life. I'm always happy to offer help with international education exchange projects, teaching/practicing Argentine tango, language exchange, or any other project that a community would like support with!
