  • Description

    Planning to travel summer 2024.

    Hi,
My name is Sonja. I come from a German village.
In my free time I would like to travel around more, getting to see beautiful places, meeting new people and learning new things.
I love being outside in nature going on hikes or riding a bike or on horseback.

What I want to learn about:
Nature and its' wildlife, woodworking, farming, climbing other languages and culures. It would also be real fun to learn how to ride a boat or to try out sailing.

    About me:
In the beginning I often seem a bit quite, especially in bigger groups. But I warm up after a bit of time and love some nice conversations ...Though I might zoom out sometimes and start daydreaming...
I did a full apprenticeship as a painter. In a total I worked four years in that job. It would be great if I could help you out in these tasks. In my sparetime I like taking care of horses and dogs, riding my bike, skijöring for fun, drawing, playing the piano, helping to paint the scenery for the open air theater of the small city next to my village and helping my parents out in their garden.

I am looking foreward to meeting you

  • More details about your skills

After school I did a full apprenticeship as a painter and worked an additional year afterwards. I can do plastering, wallpapering, all painting works in- and outdoor, scaffolding, thermal insulation, laying laminate and some gypsum board installations. After gaining some knowlege during that time I looked after the younger trainees and gave my knowledge further to them. I also had some smaller carpentry project for myself. So have experience with some woodworking tools too.

In my sparetime I ride and take care of horses since I was 7 years old. When I was 16 I got myself an own horse.
I have experience with cleaning stabels, handling more complicated horses or retraining older horses for riding, filing hoves, fencing and a bit of caring about foals and making hay.
A few years ago I started working with children form age 4-9 around horses and teaching them a bit of riding and handling them, which I am really passionate about.
I have a lot of patience with children and animals (if it takes me hours to catch a horse, I will take that time rather than giving up) but am consequent at the same time.

Due to my work and hobbies I am used to working independently and to being outside the whole day during any weather and temperature, getting my hands dirty and having long, hard working days.

I also have some experience in gardening, like seeding, harvesting crops, helping out my parents in their garden. As well as in cooking (I can make a pritty good Kaiserschmarrn) and baby sitting older children.
