Hello dear work hosts !
Let us introduce ourselves, we are Sidonie and Victor a french cycling couple soon to be exploring the roads of Europe. We now live in Marseille and plan to travel for a year, beginning in April. From our first experience cycling through the Balkans we really enjoyed meeting people through workaway and digging deeper into the culture of the countries we crossed. We have had the chance to work on the construction of a house using clay / lime plastering and adobe bricks, as well as an other workplace focused on gardening and shaping the land with dry stone walls.
I, Sidonie, helped my parents quite a lot on the renovation of their house for the last 3 years : building an extension of the house with straw walls, lime and sand plastering, laying parquet flooring and tiling. I like to learn new skills and strive to be more at ease with power tools ! On the other hand, I Victor am a structural engineer and professionnaly trained carpenter, pasionnated about woodworking and natural building in general. Some of the skills I would like to develop are building with clay and forestry. One of the last project we undertook together was the construction of an indoor sauna in a mountain house.
Following our year-long expedition, we plan to settle in the french southern Alps and we're thinking about living in some kind of community. Thus we are very interested in learning more about cold-climate gardening and community living !
