Description
Hello! We are Shota & Kazuho, a Japanese couple traveling the world while creating YouTube travel videos and writing a travel blog.
We both have experience studying abroad (Australia and Ireland), so we can communicate well in English.
In 2025, we spent a year traveling around Southeast Asia.
Shota has a strong background in powerlifting — he started in high school and has won many remarkable medals over the years.
He competed in the World Powerlifting Championship and earned a silver medal in 2016.
He graduated from a university in Tokyo, where he studied international communication.
Because of his studies and time abroad, he’s very good at connecting with people beyond borders.
He’s also surprisingly good at making friends with animals!
During our travels, he manages our finances, plans our trips, cooks, and handles daily tasks.
He also films our YouTube videos and writes blog articles.
Kazuho studied abroad in Ireland and received an IELTS Academic score of 6.5, so communicating in English isn’t a problem.
She also worked as a café server in Ireland and later worked at a hostel in Tokyo, so she’s used to talking with people from around the world.
While traveling, she is the one who starts new ideas and keeps projects moving.
She manages our YouTube account and edits all our videos.
We are both in our 20s, and our goal is to experience local cultures, connect with people around the world, and learn different ways of living.
Through our YouTube channel, we hope to inspire more people to travel, because traveling makes people more open-minded — and we believe that leads to a more peaceful world.
If you’d like to get to know us better, you can find our channel by searching “Backpack Sandwiches” on YouTube.
We would be very happy to support your place with our skills.
If you feel we might be a good match, please feel free to contact us.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Because we both have experience studying abroad and welcoming international customers in Tokyo, we can communicate in English comfortably—not as fluently as Japanese, but well enough for daily conversations, work, and travel. We are also starting to learn Mandarin Chinese from zero, as we plan to go on a working holiday in Taiwan in 2026.
