  • Description

Kia ora, hello, I am a first time, solo traveler from Aotearoa, New Zealand. A small island country in the south Pacific. The indigenous people of Aotearoa are the Māori people however, my genealogy traces back to England, Ireland and Scotland.

I have many interests including the outdoors, cooking, meditation and enjoying time with family and friends.

I plan to travel around Europe for a few months and I am really looking forward to meeting you all, the hosts: to share food, stories and be of service to each other. I enjoy helping out around the house and taking care of others as a way to show my appreciation for being welcomed into the home.

I am creative, empathic and passionate about wellbeing. I've worked in social services and more recently, as a teacher aide at my old primary school, which I've enjoyed thoroughly. The outdoors, gardening and animals are another joy of mine, and I appreciate any opportunity to spend time in nature.

I am in the process off finishing of my masters thesis in Social Work therefore, when I am not helping out with the required support or out exploring, I will be studying. I am due to finish my study by December 2024

  • More details about your skills

I've had the pleasure of working in social services and as a teacher aide recently. These experiences have helped me develop valuable people skills, organizational skills, and a greater appreciation for the diverse experiences of others. I loved working with children and would very happily support you in this regard. I also have experience caring for the elderly people, having taken care of my own 97 year old grandmother for the last three months.

Outside of work I have taken an interest in languages, learning the native language, te reo Māori, of Aotearoa New Zealand. This has sparked a passion for language and culture within me, and I am eager to learn more languages as well as share my own.

I grew up with a garden and I love plants, animals, and the outdoors. I am eager to spend more time in nature while traveling and would appreciate any opportunities to do so.

As mentioned in my profile description, I value contributing to the household and look forward to helping out with cooking, cleaning and mealtimes.
