Description
Hi, I am Mercedes, an interior designer who loves reading, swimming, surfing, spending time outside and exercising. My partner Beau and I grew up on Norfolk Island, a small island with a population of 2,000 people, in the South Pacific Ocean. Because of this we have a great love of culture, community and family and love the idea of getting to know a host family while working. Growing up we spent a lot of time farming & gardening with our families, but whilst living in an apartment, we haven't had much chance to do any, so would love to find work where we can get our hands dirty again. Mercedes also has a love of art and being creative, so would embrace the chance to paint, create or build things if required. Beau is a keen sportsman and always willing to try something new, especially new golf courses.
We are both very outgoing personalities and love to meet and talk to new people. We both love to cook (but not together 😄) and are very passsionate about food.
We have been travelling to New New Zealand, New Caledonia, Singapore, Vietnam and throughout Australia together. Separately, we have also both visited a lot of Pacific islands, including Rarotonga, Tahiti, Vanuatu, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.

Mercedes - I work in interior design and studied architecture at university. I have lots of experience gardening and doing work around the land or house, like weeding, planting, mowing, painting and general laboring. I am happy to do physical work and am used to being on my feet for long periods of time. I have also spent time working in hospitality as a section waitress and front of house person so am comfortable working in a team and dealing with customers. I am always keen to learn new skills and would be happy to give anything a try.
Beau is a Civil Engineer who has worked in the construction industry in Australia for the past 4 years. He also grew up on Norfolk Island in a small family with a few head of cattle, sheep, chickens and a budding vegetable patch. He is a deep thinker able to solve a variety of problems whilst also being hands on and able to follow through on ideas. Beau has also been a tiler and laborer in the past and always enjoys getting involved and working with his hands.

Both of us love to play Catan and other board games. We are huge Lord of the Rings fans and often listen to the audiobooks together. We like hiking and going on adventures to new places (with a yummy picnic to bring along too).
