Description
Hi!
I am Sacha, 21, from France.
I am currently finishing my last year at uni studying anthropology in France and will take some time to go and be a workawayer again soon!
I first started woofing during a gap year because I was eager to learn more about sustainable lifestyles, other cultures and meeting new people, and after my 6th experience as a woofer/workawayer I can now say that it was the best decision I have made.
I have experienced lots of precious moments and all the meaningful encounters along the way made me want to explore even more and get out of my zone of comfort as much as possible.
I am particularly curious about learning herbalism, foraging, phytotherapy, ethnobotany, permaculture, eco-construction, cooking/fermantation, and way more! Since I want to live a more outdoorsy life, any new skills and ways of doing is very much needed and appreciated!
I am also very enthusiast about discovering different types of music and dance (I took a course on ethnomusicology at uni and since then my interest has gone even higher!).
Learning new languages is a big interest of mine : I speak French and english fluently, learnt spanish at school (I understand way more than I can speak but it's a start) and I am learning Norwegian on my own (and I learnt most of it through all my Norwegian hosts of course, it's always best in person!).
And of course, discovering new landscapes has always been a dream of mine. I am not used to go on big hikes/wild camping but that is one of the things that I am most eager to do and learn about if possible. But also just exploring the area, going to a local shop or sitting under a tree, is very precious to me!
Update 2024 :
I had the chance to work at two different locations during the winter of 2023 in England : in both places I have met wonderful people and learnt a lot! I also had another great stay while woofing in France in the summer. I am very grateful for these experiences and all the memories made and I am looking forward to create new ones!
Update 2025 :
I had such an incredible experience last summer in Norway, I loved the country and the people so much that I can't wait to go back!

More details about your skills
In my previous woofing experiences I had the chance to participate in a variety of tasks inculding : pruning trees, planting trees, cutting thin wood, building new compost bins, taking care of chickens, pigs and horses, cleaning greenhouses, working in polytunnels, preparing vegetable boxes, etc.
I also worked in a restaurant in Paris, where I did the service, bar and a little in the kitchen!

What else ...
About traveling :
I try to avoid travelling by plane so I am planning on coming to Norway by bus and train through Germany, Danemark and Sweden with the help of Couchsurfing!
About my "goals" :
I have always dreamed of kayaking in the fjord of Norway or surfing so I hope to be able to do one of those things soon! Also I have never really been in moutains in the summer (I've always seen them in the snow during winter) so I can't wait to discover the landscapes and the activities that it can offer!
Some more information

Smoker

Driver's licence

Allergies

Special dietary requirements
Vegetarian for a long time but I also care about eating a local diet and wish to discover new food so depending on where I go, a vegetarian/vegan diet might not be the most suitable (environmentally and culturally speaking) so I adapt!
Feedback
She was always positive, smiling, easygoing, communicative, interested, no tasks was to small or too big for her.
We had such nice weeks together and we miss her so much from the day she left 😭 and hope to see her again as a guest in our house! She is always welcome back!
