Hey, I’m Ruben, from Bristol, England.
I’ve spent the best part of the last 2.5 years travelling, mostly by bicycle or hitchhiking. I’m now looking for a place where I can settle for a while, contribute, and be part of a daily life with people — somewhere I can really connect and be involved in a community.
I travel with my bicycle, which gives me freedom to move between volunteering spaces. When I’m on the road, I travel very lightly and simply, often relying on the kindness of strangers for a place to sleep or asking local restaurants for extra food that is going to waste!
I enjoy physical work, being outdoors, and living simply. I’m easygoing, adaptable, and happy to help wherever I’m needed. I like learning from people and cultures, sharing small moments, and living in a way that feels calm and present.
I speak English, and I know basic words & phrases in 15+ languages, which often helps in connecting with people from different backgrounds. I’m not travelling to just tick places off a list — I’m looking for experiences where I can contribute, be consistent, and build real connections with the people around me.

I do photography and enjoy taking photos of people, places, and daily life. I can also help with basic tech or social media if needed.
I have a lot of experience with children and really enjoy being around them. I’ve looked after kids most of my life.
I’m very happy doing physical work. I like being active, working outside, and getting my hands dirty. I’m good with routine work and helping wherever I’m needed.
I travel with my bicycle, which helps me move around easily and stay independent.

I like chess, I'm not great but I really enjoy playing. I'm interested about the history of most places I visit and how the culture has developed or changed over time. I enjoy pretty much all physical activity and love playing team sports.
