  • Description

    Hello dear Workaway hosts,

we are Sacha (32, Dutch) and Robert (36, German). We met and fell in love with each other during our last Workaway in Finnmark/Norway in 2023/24 when becoming mushers.
After our season we moved to Germany and went back to our normal jobs. But we both quickly became aware that we would like to have one big adventure together before we find our place to settle down. That's why we decided that In spring 2026 we will embark on our first big adventure and that is to convert a T5 van. After the conversion our first plan is to travel to scandinavia to see more of sweden and finland as we both have barely seen any of it. When traveling we would like to join inspiring work projects, meet kind people and learn new skills so that is why we are on here again!

A few words about us as acouple:

Robert is a very sporty and outdoorsy person. He loves running (his marathon best is 2:58:25h), hiking and cycling. When cooking he is the man when it comes to making certain doughs. He makes the most delicious german Sauerteig Schwarzbrot. He is also very good when making pizza or a quiche.
He can be a very chatty person. This is just due to the fact that he loves to meet and connect with other people. In his opinion there is nothing more interesting in life than to learn about the life of others.

Sacha is a dreamer and always has a new project she's working on. Her dream is to live closer to nature in a more sustainable way with lots of animals. In the morning you will find her sporting and she also loves to do some yoga and meditation. She likes to learn new recipes to nourish the body with wholesome foods and herbs. She likes to learn new skills and she is now in a learning process to get more creative with her hands. She loves everything cozy and her sweet spot are evenings spent by the candlelight with a soft blanket, a hot beverage and a good book. And maybe some chocolate.

We are both early risers, although Robert by nature and Sacha by alarm. This means that we can use the day to its fullest because there is always so much we would like to do. We both love to be outside in nature doing something active, visiting beautiful castles or eating cakes. We always like to play a fun board games (fav is EVERDELL) or watch a new serie (esp cozy murder mysteries). We both are vegetarians and have a big love for animals especially dogs.

    What we are looking for:
We both look for work projects that help us gain new experience in building/Farm work/woodcraft/gardening/house- and pet sitting. We also like to help out in Bed and Breakfasts or campgrounds.

If our Introduction relates with you and you would like us to help you with your project don't hesitate to leave us a message.

    See you soon!

    Robert and Sacha

Robert is a biology laboratory technician by trade. He worked for many hospitals in Germany and also for the German Bundeswehr in Africa. During his travels in New Zealand/Australia and USA he volunteered for many non-profit organisations such as the Department of conservation in NZ (being a hut warden, general hand in wildlife centre) or Yosemite conservancy (visitor information assistant). In Australia he worked on many Farms as a Farm Hand either to feed live stock or to help out seeding crops. His last outdoor job was being a musher at BIRK Husky in Finnmark.

Sacha completed her studies in Ecological Pedagogy and has worked with young people with intellectual disabilities and learning and behavivoural problems. She then made a career change and worked as a manager in a customer service department. In her twenties, she also worked in a restaurant and as a personal trainer. During BIRK, she has been a musher and a host for the tours and the B&B. She did a woodwork course and would love to be more creative and work more with her hands.
