Description
During COVID lockdown I ended up staying and working on a sheep and cattle farm in Wales for over a year longer than planned.
During that time I did 2 Lambing seasons (5 in total now), 2 seasons of shearing (4 total), fencing, helped to build a house, took up mandolin making, got some experience milking sheep and cheese making, improved my butchery and carpentry skills, helped out with gardening and regularly manned the farmer's market stall.
Since then I have visited various workaways in Ireland, Norfolk, Dorset, Devon, Somerset, Scotland and France gaining experience working with;
Orchard restoration, fruit picking, chickens, turkeys, ducks, milking goats, electric fences, pigs, poly tunnels and vegetable gardens, wood working.
I like hard work and learning new things.
I enjoy cooking, hiking, mountains, beaches, fires and stories but above all I love music and will be travelling with an Irish bouzouki working on a repertoire songs and tunes.
I have had two doses of Covid 19 vaccine and 1 booster. I am happy to take whatever precautions a host needs to feel comfortable.

I stayed with Thomas, Barbara and Felix for just under 4 weeks in autumn and had a great time. I really enjoyed working in the market garden whether it was harvesting, weeding, putting up new fences, building a new chicken coop or planting trees work was always varied and interesting and Felix was always happy to answer questions.

Rob and his partner, Clemmie, came for a month to help me out with lambing and other jobs around the farm. They were a huge help with all aspects of the sheep husbandry and Rob's previous experience was incredibly useful as he could do all tasks competently and without supervision.

Brilliant help with prepping the wind turbine site - quickly understanding the technical aspects and carving out a base area. Highly recommended. versatile and a coupe who make a nice team. We enjoyed some strumming on the deck with a cider of an evening - sorry the apples weren't quite ready. Wishing you well on your journeys through the Isles...

My partner and I stayed with Hugh for ten days in December and had a really great time. Hugh is a fascinating man that I cannot recommend the company of enough. My partner and I stayed with Mandie for ten days, mostly working on building a fruit cage. Mandie was a wonderful host, always making sure we had everything we needed and always making great food for us. We had a lovely time in Newtownallen with Michael, Celine and John! The farm was absolutely beautiful and the dogs, Katy, Chico and Harry were incredibly loveable. We had great fun painting and working in the orchard. Our hosts took great care of us and John was a delight 😊
