Hello there!

We are a young couple from the Netherlands looking for fun and insightful travelling experiences during our gap year.

We are both artists. I, Meia, study jewellery design in Antwerp at the Royal Academy, and work at a cute little jewellery shop in Utrecht, and my partner Raidan works in a cultural art institute in Utrecht, where he curates expositions and organises community events.

Raidan likes to cook extravagant dinners, play chess, read, paint, and do judo. He knows a lot of cuisines, like Indian, Yemeni, French, Italian, Thai, and fusion, and he has cooked at parties and even big events for almost a hundred people. He is involved in community work. He teaches painting, judo, and philosophy to both kids and people his age. Raidan is Yemeni. His mother tongue is Arabic, but he has been speaking English since he was a little kid. He reads, writes, and teaches in English. He's an IB bachelor.

Meia studies jewellery, including goldsmithing techniques and jewellery design. Her study is in English. She's very creative. She likes to draw, paint, knit, crochet, sing, and obviously make jewellery. She's very neat and clean, and she has two years of babysitting experience.

We are pet and plant lovers. We have been house- and petsitting for friends and family for a few years now, and would love to do it more.
We have a cat called Droppie (meaning licorice) and she's very cute.
People call us social, loyal and responsible. We love playing games (Meia plays D&D), hiking, and having a good laugh.

We are excited to exchange ideas and cultures.

More details about my language interests
Raidan speaks fluent English, Dutch, and Arabic. Meia speaks fluent English and Duth, a bit of French, and is currently learning Arabic. We would love to both teach and learn languages. Raidan has a lot of teaching experience. He taught judo and painting to kids, philosophy to his peers, and school subjects to his two younger siblings. Meia is a language geek. She loves learning new languages and has even studied ancient Greek and Latin. We both have younger siblings, and Meia has a lot of baby sitting experience, so we are good and responsible with children.
