Hi there!
I am an outgoing and somewhat unhinged person. Generally quite quiet but will start talking a lot once I am comfortable. I am passionate about conservation and wildlife. I studied conservation ecology at university, hold an MSc in Conservation Ecology and help my parents on their farm in southern Namibia. Currently I work as a Conservation & Research Coordinator on the private nature reserve: Orange River-Karoo Conservation Area (ORKCA).
I love going hiking and walking and enjoy running, horse riding and canoeing. I find meeting new people and learning new cultures as a stimulating and valuable experience. I am always ready for a new adventure whether it be visiting different places in my home country or going abroad.

I have experience in small scale vegetable production and animal husbandry coming from a sheep farm. I am used to looking after pets having had cats and dogs. Physical and mechanical labour is no stranger to me.
I also hold a MSc in Conservation Ecology with a focus on human wildlife conflict. I have worked in the field on a few private nature reserves and also over wintered on Marion Island in the subAntarctic doing research on seals.
I am an experience paddler having completed a source to sea expedition of the Orange River in South Africa.
What experience I lack I am willing to learn.

Had a lovely two weeks in Martvili with the Gang. Met many new and interesting people (both guests and volunteers) and worked on interesting projects. The hours are good and there is plenty to do and see in the area on your off days. The cooking team made amazing food everyday and dinner was never the same. My first workaway experience and it was fantastic. Learned alot about lime and mud plastering. There was always more than enough food and it was very tasty.
