Hi

My name is Paulien Bonne, I am 33 years young and ready for the experience of a lifetime. I just quit my job as manager of a coffee bar in Ghent, Belgium. I also gave up my apartment in the city where I love to live. All this to fulfill my long-cherished dream of living and working abroad.

I studied social work and after that I worked in the cultural sector for a number of years as an communication manager, public relations & education officer. Five years ago, I discovered that working as a barista in a coffee bar allowed me to do more social work than ever before. Coffee and hospitality in general are my passion. I know now this is where I want to end up: in a coffeebar. Ideally my own coffeebar.

But first, I want to broaden my horizons. After my studies, I would have gone to Barcelona for a year to live and work there. Unfortunately, this didn't happen at the last minute. I still regret it till this day, 10 years later. It seems that now is the time to finally pursue this dream.

I have been living in the city of Ghent for eight years now, but I am originally from the countryside. I enjoy living in the city, but for some time now I have felt the need to reconnect with the peace and fresh air of nature.
