  • Description

Hi there, my name is Paul. I'm a 34yo Carpenter from Australia, looking to broaden my skill set around the world, teach my skills to anyone interested, as well as meet a lot of new people from different countries and cultures. I’m an easy-going, laidback kind of guy, happy to have a chat with anyone.

I've been in the Building and Construction Industry since I was 15. I started as a Bricklayer then went into carpentry and concrete, doing small residential builds to large commercial and civil jobs. I really enjoy what I do; I have been lucky enough to have learned from some very good teachers - the main one being my dad - from building things, to fixing cars or even playing sports.
I love to cook and I'm quite good at it (so I've been told!). I love learning to cook new foods and trying new cuisines.

I have always been around animals and have a soft spot for them. All animals, big and small. But especially dogs.
I grew up in a small country town so I'm not afraid of hard work. Although I did not grow up on a farm, I do still have some experience with farm work and I’m not against getting my hands dirty to get the job done.

More than happy to be left alone to do tasks; I’m a fast learner and if there's something I don't know, I can either ask or work it out myself, depending on what the job is. I’m pretty handy and quite resourceful, whether its general DIY/maintenance, manual labour or bigger jobs.

I love being outdoors, doing anything. I love snowboarding and mountain biking – these being some of the reasons Canada was on the top of my travel list.
Other interests include fishing, cooking and BBQing, watching most sports, wakeboarding and open to having a chat about pretty much anything.

With 4 nephews and 3 nieces, I’m good with kids. I have a lot of patience for them and love to share in their games with equal levels of enthusiasm (and energy, at times).

What else about me? I’m very respectful of other people’s homes and belongings and open-minded and willing to learn about all other walks of life. I'm keen to experience different ways of living and being able to give back to the community by helping out and sharing any knowledge or skills that I have, which is why I feel that Workaway will be a great fit.

Any further questions, please let me know. Happy to chat over Zoom or WhatsApp.

  • What else ...

I will initially be travelling with my best friend, Kirsty, before she moves on and I remain in Canada to work. We have lived and travelled together for the past decade and have been through a lot, always coming out the other side with our friendship stronger. She is a positive, passionate, funny and quirky person who never gives up and always tries to make others feel at ease. She never stops trying to leave the world a better place than how she found it and gives everything her all.
