    🌿 About Us
We’re Lesly (32) and Patrick (30), a couple from Berlin, Germany, who love meaningful travel, cultural exchange and learning through real-life experiences.
We are curious, open-minded and adaptable people who enjoy getting involved rather than simply being visitors. For us, Workaway is about sharing everyday life, contributing our skills, learning from others and experiencing a place from a local perspective.
We are particularly interested in sustainability, nature, spirituality, community living and traditional knowledge – which is why we are especially excited to explore India through a Workaway experience.

    🌱 Our Background
Lesly has Peruvian roots and a strong connection to Latin American culture and the natural world. She speaks fluent Spanish and has experience caring for young children. She loves creative activities such as painting, crafts, cooking and spending time with people.
Patrick studied Environmental Science in Brazil and worked for several years as a Climate Change Advisor, advising companies, organisations and institutions on sustainability, biodiversity, circular economy and greenhouse gas emissions.
Through his work and travels, he developed a strong interest in how communities can live more sustainably and in harmony with nature.
We have both spent considerable time travelling in Latin America, including remote areas of Peru and the Amazon, and are comfortable with simple living, rural environments and being flexible when things don't go exactly according to plan.

    🤝 What We Can Bring
We are happy to help wherever we are genuinely useful and are not afraid of practical work.
Some areas where we can contribute:
🌱 Sustainability, environmental projects & gardening
    🌳 Nature conservation & biodiversity-related projects
    🏡 Eco-living, permaculture & community projects
    🔨 Renovation, maintenance & hands-on work
👩‍🏫 Teaching English / languages and helping with educational activities
👧 Childcare and creative activities with children
🎨 Painting, crafts and creative projects
🐕 Caring for dogs and animals
💻 Communication, organisation and basic project work
🍳 Cooking and helping with everyday household tasks
We are also happy to do simple, repetitive or physical work. We don't expect every task to be exciting – we see Workaway as being part of a household or community and helping wherever help is needed.

    🧘 Spirituality & Personal Practice
Spirituality is an important part of our travels, and one of the reasons we are particularly interested in experiencing India.
We have both explored breathwork, meditation, yoga and other contemplative practices. Patrick recently completed a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat, which deepened his interest in mindfulness and Indian spiritual traditions.
We are very curious to learn about different traditions, but approach them with respect and humility. We don't come to India expecting to "find ourselves" or to tell anyone how spirituality should be practiced. We would rather listen, learn and experience.
We would be especially interested in living with or contributing to hosts involved in:
    🧘 Yoga & meditation
🌿 Ayurveda and traditional approaches to wellbeing
    🕉️ Spiritual or contemplative communities
    🌱 Sustainable and intentional communities
    🏡 Ashrams or retreat centres
    🌳 Nature-based projects
📿 Traditional knowledge and local cultural practices
🌏 Our Approach to Cultural Exchange

For us, the most valuable part of Workaway is cultural exchange.
We would love to learn about Indian culture, traditions, food, spirituality and everyday life – while also sharing our own backgrounds and experiences.
We are particularly interested in learning from local people rather than only experiencing India as tourists.
We understand that every household, community and project works differently. We are respectful of local customs, happy to adapt and willing to learn.

    🇮🇳 Why India?
India is particularly interesting to us because of the combination of ancient spiritual traditions, incredible biodiversity, diverse cultures and the many different ways communities approach sustainability and simple living.
During our travels, we would love to spend less time simply moving from one tourist attraction to another and more time living and working alongside local people.
We are especially interested in the Himalayas and Northern India in November, and later in exploring Southern India and Kerala.
We are open to very different types of hosts – from an organic farm or eco-community to a yoga centre, retreat centre, family project or rural household.

    📅 Availability
We are looking for a Workaway opportunity in Northern India for approximately 2–3 weeks in early November 2026.

We are flexible with the exact dates and location and would be happy to discuss what works best for the host.
