Description
A little piece of paradise located at the beautiful Lake Atitlan. When you arrive in San Marcos by boat the first place you'll see is us.
We have a few cabins made of natural rocks, a Native American style Teepee which can host 6 guests, a brand new restaurant with two floors on top providing a stunning view on the lake and the impressive volcanoes. Our garden is full of flowering roses, aromatic herbs and edible plants.
We believe in fair trade of value: providing valuable accommodation in exchange for serious support of our business.
Supporting the local community is very important for us, therefore we hire only local staff. There are 4 lovely ladies cooking delicious food in our kitchen, 1 talented handyman who takes care of maintenance and 35 workers (only temporary) building our new accommodation units and several fancy shops and integrative health and wellness center. Our team will grow as soon as the constructions are completed. -

Lend a hand and share your heart. We seek volunteers who embrace service, take initiative, and exude genuine warmth. Help us to keep our sanctuary the sparkling paradise that it is. We expect from you to prepare the rooms and beds for our guests, laundry, giving some love to our garden and helping to keep the area clean and tidy, and helping set up and host events. We make sure that people do what they can best and put you in a job that makes you happy.

Accommodation
Our Volunteers are living in recently constructed buildings providing three separate rooms. One room is a dorm with two bunk beds while the other two have ample space with built in shelving and raised beds to provide more storage and floor space. All rooms contain new comfortable beds and pillows and are made of bamboo wood and cement-built with passive air flow for a mold free experience. We believe in respecting each other's space, keeping shared spaces tidy and organized, and sharing the simple joys of community and mindful living. We have a spacious-recently finished large communal kitchen, two communal bathrooms( flushing toilets) and hot showers. We also have multi staged filtered drinking water on site. Feel free to use the beautiful yoga Shala for your movement practice, meditation, work flow, or just relax and lounge in our bean bags and enjoy the lakefront view :) We also have one of the best saunas on the lake that includes red light therapy and indoor cold pool.

San Marcos offers a variety of activities. There is: open mic events, ecstatic dance, kayaking, hiking, yoga, community days, free sauna, different types of ceremonies, women-circles and much more.
