Description
Hi, my name is Olwen.
I'm 18 years old, from Wales and have just finished my A-levels and have a place to study International Relations in uni. I've always been interested in other cultures and I'm eager to learn about different languages, traditions and ideas. I'm solo travelling in my car around NZ and am excited to meet new people on the way.
Cooking is one of my favourite hobbies, especially when I get to try new and varied dishes, so I'm more than happy to help with meal prep if needed. I also enjoy sports of all kinds including climbing and hiking. I would love to join in on activities with families and hosts but I'm also happy to entertain myself exploring the surrounding area.
I would consider myself to be a flexible and hardworking person. I'm up for trying new tasks and enjoy learning how to improve my skills. I have experience in many different areas such as farmwork, coaching, DIY and working with animals but I would love to be able to develop my skills at a workaway. -

More details about your skills
Through working in New Zealand I have gained professional experience in cooking and cleaning but I've always had an interest in cooking and baking new recipes from around the world.
I enjoy fixing items and doing a bit of DIY on anything from furniture to clothes and I'm more than happy to try my hand at new skills or projects. Sewing and crochet come in handy when traveling with a limited amount of clothes.
I have experience working with children through coaching hockey for around 4 years and tutoring Maths and Welsh language to kids of varying ages. I'm happy to help out with homework or doing an activity with kids. -

What else ...
I'm a very easygoing person and love to pick up new things and learn about others. One of the best ways to do that in my opinion is a games night, sharing different games from across the world and learning about how others play games you know.
I really enjoy being in nature, whether that's gardening, exploring or just reading a book outside. It's always been important to me to respect my surroundings and appreciate the natural world. -

Most of my work was sanding and painting, we did around 4 hrs for dinner and accommodation. There were a lot of us at the start of my stay but most moved on during my stay which made the last few days a lot calmer.

Olwen was great to host and we would certainly welcome her back anytime in the future, sh was an amazing baker and filled the baking tins up during her stay. She was happy to take care of our messy gardens and then switch to housework, which was really handy as we were really during her stay. She was respectful … read more
