Our next destination:
Vietnam - from Jul 2025 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Myself (Jess) and my friend Niamh are two experienced travellers with a passion for cultural exchange, the outdoors, meeting new people from all walks of life, environmental sustainability and animal rehabilitation/care. We are both happy, bubbly and outgoing individuals who love to socialise and are partial to karaoke nonetheless, we are very satisfied to work alone in remote areas getting back to basics. We are not shy of hard work, whether that be working outdoors in all elements, cooking, cleaning or supporting with tech.

More details about your skills
Jess:
My current expertise is within children and young people's services safeguarding vulnerable children. Previously, I have managed a hotel in the south west of England along with being a domestic cleaning supervisor therefore, I have great organisational skills and can work well with others whilst using my own initiative. I have great people skills and historically have ran self-help meetings around addiction and homelessness. With that being said, I am an animal lover and have always owned a dog and have been known to foster abused dogs.
Niamh:
Currently I work in hospitality as a bar manager in a non-profit bistro however I can't wait to get back to travelling - my true passion. The three years I spent travelling around Africa and Europe I realised my love for permaculture, farm work and animal rehabilitation after working on various farms, horse ranches and dog sanctuaries.
I was in charge of 300 + sheep in South Africa which included daily herding, counting and medical care as well as handling the lambing season on my own, I also learnt a lot about horses and led several treks with paying guests across mountains for 3 days at a time with no running water, internet or phone reception; taking care of the horses and patrons.
In Kenya I volunteered at an eco backpackers and was taught about local permaculture and zero waste initiatives as well as housekeeping for paying travellers.
My trip to Portugal ended up lasting for over a year due to covid and there I volunteered and eventually found myself running a dog sanctuary with 200+ dogs, sometimes alone and sometimes with other volunteers. Here I learnt how to provide medical care for various diseases and injuries in the canine world along with a firm understanding of rehabilitation in order for adoption. This is something specifically I would like to do again.Age
