Hello! We are Natalie (31) and Marco (29), a friendly and open-minded couple from the UK. We have left our jobs in the charity sector in London to be able to explore the world and are currently travelling through South America. We are enjoying our time so far, but we are keen to experience life beyond the usual tourist route and connect with local people and learn new skills, which is why we have joined Workaway. We are both responsible, proactive and happy to contribute wherever we can. We hope to connect with you soon!

We both have a varied set of skills, from teaching English and working with children and young people to hospitality experience in hotels, restaurants and bars. On top of that, we’ve picked up plenty of transferable skills over the years and enjoying learning new things.

Natalie has a background in languages, teaching, fundraising and charity work. She has worked in the UK and abroad, and enjoys roles that involve working directly with people and as part of a team. Having worked as an English Language Assistant and private tutor in both La Reunion and Madrid, Natalie is confident teaching English and developing activities to engage young people and adults. Through her charity work, she has developed excellent communication, administration and event planning skills. Natalie is also keen to develop new skills and experience through Workaway, particularly with animals / manual work.

Marco has had a varied career, mostly in public-facing and people-focused jobs. He’s worked in different hotels, restaurants and other hospitality spots across London, and is used to busy environments. He’s also spent many years working in the charity sector, mainly with children and young people, as well as in managerial and partnership roles where he’s picked up solid communication, admin and IT skills. He’s confident taking responsibility when needed, problem solving but just as happy helping out wherever he can. He brings his sense of humour and positive energy to everything he does, and always tries to make work feel easy and enjoyable for the people around him.

We’re both organised, good with people, and quick to learn whatever needs doing. We’re happy working as a team or getting on with things independently, and we’re both practical, hands-on and not afraid to muck in. We try to bring a positive attitude to whatever we’re doing, bringing good vibes and keep things running smoothly without any fuss.
