Description
Hey! My name's Miriam and I'm from New Zealand. I'm very much into the outdoors and have been working as a kayak and canyon guide in Tasmania the past few summers which has been a lot of fun! I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, canyoning, surfing, sailing - anything in nature really. In my down time I like to crochet, play guitar, read, play card/board games and paint. I would say I am an easy going, friendly, open minded and reliable person.
I will be spending a few months exploring BC before I head down to Peru for a big bike packing trip. I would love to spend some of that time really getting to know a place beyond just surface level, learning new things and connecting with people. I always find that it is the people rather than the place that really shapes the experience for me and leaves a lasting impression. -

More details about your skills
I have experience living off grid, so I'm used to helping out with some of the things that it entails - moving firewood, chopping kindling, digging holes for composting toilets, basic gardening. While I don't have much experience helping out with building projects, that is definitely something I'm interested in learning more about and is a skill that I would like to develop in the future. I also feel pretty comfortable around most livestock and I love animals, so I'm keen to help out with feeding them, walking dogs etc.
In the interest of sustainability I also like to do my best to fix and mend broken things, so if you have any clothes or similar that need patching I'm happy to give you a hand with that.
I'm also used to doing house work, such as cleaning and cooking group meals. I also enjoy baking, so if people need a sweet treat I can help with that! -
