    Description

We are an active, tech-savvy, and warm-hearted family of four living in the beautiful Cayambe. For us, a Workawayer is not just a helper; you become a member of our family. We love sharing our table, cooking together, and exploring local wonders like the Otavalo market or the surrounding mountains.

Our home is a hub of energy: Juan and Kris are digital entrepreneurs in the IT and Marketing world (we love Facebook Ads and SEO!). Our kids have grown up: Matias is now 16 and a competitive mountain & road biker training for national championships. Samantha is 10, she is a great swimmer and full of creativity. We also share our lives with our 2 friendly cats (Milo & Michi) and 2 dogs (Kira & Timmy), who have their own space but love a good walk with the family.

We moved our business to a home-based workshop to prioritize quality of life. If you love nature, cycling, or digital world topics, you will feel right at home. We have a spare bike ready for you to explore the stunning Andean landscapes around us!

Our main goal is a Language & Skills Exchange. We want to practice our English and learn about your culture through daily life and shared meals. We love sharing our table and we are always open to trying traditional dishes from your home country!
Digital & Creative Support: We are an entrepreneurial family, and we would love your help with:
Content Creation: Taking photos or videos of Matias during his cycling training or helping us create engaging reels for our social media.
Digital Marketing: If you have experience in SEO, photography, or social media, we can brainstorm and collaborate on our projects.
Family & Exploration: We believe in a "member of the family" experience. This means we often go on trips together to explore beautiful nearby places like Otavalo, San Pablo Lake, Ibarra, and other hidden gems of the northern Andes. We are very active and love being on the move!

    What else ...

You will have the unique opportunity to live with a real, modern Ecuadorian family in a charming city. Our home is strategically located: we are just 30 minutes away from Otavalo (world-famous for its indigenous handicrafts), the refreshing Peguche waterfalls, and the majestic Cayambe Volcano, the third-highest peak in Ecuador at 5,790m.

We value family time and usually gather for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You are more than welcome to join us and share daily life with our children, who are now 10 and 16 years old.

Local Insider Tips: Juan is a pro at finding the best "hidden gems" in town—places where you can eat the best local food at amazing prices. He also knows the best spots to enjoy the local nightlife, dance, and meet new people. If you want to experience the authentic vibe of Cayambe beyond the tourist spots, we are the family for you!
