Description
Hello everyone! My name is Mircea and I’m retired. I’m a healthy and active man who grew up in a village house with a small orchard, surrounded by all kinds of animals (pigs, hens, ducks, and many others), so I have a lot of experience in taking care of animals and plants. However, what I enjoy most is beekeeping and tending to beehives.
I am tech-savvy and also a skilled handyman; I usually fix any electrical or mechanical issues around my house myself. Since retiring, I have been volunteering for SMURD (the Romanian Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication) as a certified paramedic.
I would love to discover new aspects of life: new cultures, languages, and skills. I am naturally curious and joined Workaway to satisfy that curiosity! I have decided to take a "gap year" to see a different side of the world, and I believe this exchange will provide a deep cultural immersion. I am open-minded, easy-going, and friendly, and I get along well with everyone I meet.
I am happy to perform any task my host needs so that we can support each other and have a great time. As a volunteer, I am flexible, punctual, and eager to learn. In my past professional life, I often started with zero experience and learned quickly on the job. I truly believe I can do anything I set my mind to.
I love reading, and among my favorite authors are Jared Diamond, Carl Sagan, David Eagleman, Niall Ferguson, Lewis Dartnell, John Hands, and Dumitru Constantin Dulcan and many others.
For now, my plan is to spend a few weeks in Spain this summer to improve my Spanish. Please feel free to send me a message!
PS: Because I have worked extensively with computers and fought against cybercrime, I do not have Facebook, Instagram, or X (Twitter) accounts. I prefer not to lose too much time online and value real-life connections instead. -

More details about your skills
I work on computer a lot of years, but I grew up taking care of animals (pigs, hens, ducks, bees, nutrias), and a small orchard with apple trees, pears trees, plum trees and other types of trees.
I am a really good handy man with electric stuff, water pipes and many times during my holidays I used to work on tractors with agricultural machineries.
Since I retired I use to go helping as a voluntary SMURD (which means Romanian Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication), as a certified paramedic. -
