Description
English and Japanese couple, seeking help for a renovated B&B and Brewpub in our ski resort, Hachimantai, for the Summer and Winter Season.
We are currently seeking people who can primarily assist with cooking (commercial kitchen) as we have seating for 50 in our restaurant, general cleaning and room turnover.
This will be our 10th season here at Appi and we're hoping to have a great time and working hard with whoever comes to help us out.
Our BrewPub has 5 guest bedrooms and enough communal area to relax and unwind. It's a family affair that offers ski passes for 5 hours a day help for a long stay.
We'll be supplying a shared room and plenty of time to enjoy the slopes when you're here. Obviously working hard is a must but we're flexible with scheduling and volunteering hours. If you'd like to experience Northern Japan, without the Chaos of Hokkaido (Nisseko) then this place is ideal.
We are offering ¥1200 per hour for dedicated Kitchen staff for our brewpub and ¥1000 per hour for all other help.
The rooms for our workawayers is one of the tatami rooms, single smaller rooms and we have a "managers" room that has 2 beds. These are avilable to view on our websites.
Due to insurance stipulations we would prefer people 26 or older with an International driving permit.

What else ...
It's a great place with wonderful local people. If you want the night life of Niseko this is definitely not for you. The snow is great, it's a very relaxing place to come that offers great all round skiing. Morioka is the closest city with plenty to do. It only takes just over 2 hours from Tokyo to get here on the Shinkansen. There are plenty of onsens in the area as well as other local ski resorts.
We're looking for outgoing people who may want to learn a little Japanese while they're here. Relaxed family atmosphere with a communal sense. It's cold and hard work at times but at the end of the day we can all sit down and relax.A little more information

He's reliable, quick on the uptake and a pleasure to be around. Never a dull moment at all. He's a hard worker n dneeds little supervision when showed what needs to be done.
He'd be an asset to anyone seeking help. We would have him back in a heartbeat.

The number 1 reason to go to Appi is for the snow sports, and all Workawayers are given a season pass to enjoy the resort as much as they possibly can. The resort has plenty variety in… read more
I spent just under 3 months with Rob and Ayami, was my first time seeing snow. I had an amazing time here. Rob and Ayami where very hospitable, they helped out every way possible. I just finished a 2 month stay with Ayami and Rob. Their whole family is very warm, you'll never run out of topics to talk about and you get more than you need.
The work that needs to be done ranges from basic housekeeping to shoveling to working in a bar (where you connect with heaps of people). The… read more
Not only the area is great (nice ski resort, lots of slopes, famous Japanese powder although I prefer groomed runs - I know! - quiet village and countryside) but the people you will be working for are the kindest.
Ayami and Rob shared the tasks fairly among workawayers and always made… read more
It's located walking distance to the slopes and the powder snow is amazing, I wish I used the slopes much more than what I did, it's a great opportunity to practice your skiing or snowboarding!
Work is fairly easy and you will know the routines as it's the… read more
He's a hard worker and has a great sense of humour. It was a sad day when he left us.
Anyone who decides to take Mitch on is lucky indeed.
We were sad to see her go but wish her all the best on her new career in Taiawan !!!
Cheers !!
