Hallo!

My name is Mika i'm 21 years old and I'm from the Netherlands, I joined Workaway to finally be able to see more of the world and make new friends! I made the decision after finishing my education in hospitality and managership. In the last year of my education I got the chance to travel to Ireland, where I had an amazing time, and this sparked my enthusiasm for travelling even more!

I’m an enthusiastic and hard-working person by nature and love to be challenged! I don’t mind getting my hands dirty as I love working with animals and farm life in general. I love being outdoors and photographing anything even remotely interesting or beautiful.
I enjoy a lot of movies and art, I also like talking about and listening to music, I recently started practising a bit of piano (emphasis on recently) with which I might need a bit of help, to be honest.

What I’m most interested in is learning about new cultures, nature and making new friends, sharing and making stories together.
My first plans are made and I will be leaving for Aurland-Norway this March! My current journey will be to go through Norway first then Sweden and after that Iceland!
I believe that through Workaway I will see these beautiful countries through the eyes of the people who live there instead of a more touristic viewpoint.

I am a very reliable and hard-working person, I'm interested and always looking forward to learning new things from other people. I enjoy working with others and consider myself to be very social, and I'm always ready to lend a hand when needed.
Because of my education, I have a lot of experience with management and hospitality, and I'm sure that these skills i learned will come in handy!
I also have some knowledge of marketing. I worked with a marketing team in in Ireland for about 4 months and learned a lot there! When i came back to work in the Netherlands i took over the role of marketing at my job, this ranged from taking pictures to editing them and then planning ahead!
