Description
Hello!
My name is Miguel and I am currently in the final year of my degree in Ireland, studying Political Science and Geography. Last year I tried Workaway for the first time after my exchange year in Montreal. I loved every moment of my 10-week summer adventure. I travelled to Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, and finally Haida Gwaii. This year I am looking to have a similar experience somewhere new.
A little about me:
I'm originally from Spain. However, during my childhood, I had the opportunity to live in different countries. For instance, I lived in the Bahamas for 6 years. This has helped me develop a love for travelling and exploring new places. I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, swimming, and my newfound love for canoeing (which I tried for the first time in Canada). I also love reading and playing sports.
I am a curious, thoughtful and fun person. I enjoy spending time with others, but I'm also able to focus and be dedicated when I set my mind to something. I have spent my past three summer breaks working in the hospitality sector, having spent the first two working at a 4-star hotel in the popular summer destination of Puerto Banús in Southern Spain.Interests

More details about your skills
I have previous experience in the hospitality sector. During the last two summer breaks, I have worked in
the front office of a 4-star hotel in Puerto Banús, Marbella, Spain called Hotel B51. The year before I worked as a lifeguard at a nearby swimming pool.
When I was 16, I participated in a volunteering trip in India at the Fundacion Vicente Ferrer in Kanekal, India.
My class also held a gala at the end of the year to raise money for the foundation. I also have enjoy spending time with animals as my family has had many different pets. During high school, I volunteered at an animal shelter. Mainly helping take the dogs out for walks.
My family has a garden and alongside my mother, we have enjoyed growing different fruits and vegetables. Some with more luck than others :D We've had great success with our loquat trees that have been producing delicious fruit!
I love going on outdoor trips. I did the Camino in 2016 with my mom and it was especially important for her as Santiago (the final destination) is where she was born. When I lived in the Bahamas, we went on several trips to neighbouring islands. On one of these trips, we hiked for three days and camped along the sea. More recently, I went on a canoe-camping trip near Montreal with lots of portaging.Age
