Description
Hello Potential Hosts :)
We are a power couple of good times and entertainment. We share similar values, which is why we work so great together, and we both have a lot to offer every place we go. Let us introduce ourselves:
My name is Mel and I’m at my absolute happiest when I’m connecting with people, nature, and experiencing new places and adventures. Its the simple things that light me up – swimming in the ocean, sharing stories over a meal, dancing, or watching the sunset with a nice cold beer.
What motivates me is learning and giving back. I love helping out in whatever way’s needed – whether that’s gardening, cooking, supporting others, or sharing some yoga and movement. I enjoy being part of a team, but I’m also comfortable working on my own.
And my name is Connor. Like Mel, I equally relish in getting to meet and connect with new people, constantly learning the ins and outs of the quirky people that make up this world! From surfboards at sea level to bicycles on top of mountains I'm big on outdoor adventures, the path less travelled, and on a mission to see the world.
What motivates me is the opportunity to learn new languages, and connect with people in new and exciting ways. I am never shy of a conversation and am great at making people feel welcome and comfortable in any space. Anything that allows me to excersise my language learning, new connections, and integrate into or create community, is the dream.
And back to the both of us:
Travel isn’t about rushing around – it’s about slowing down, experiencing local life, and contributing to the places we are welcomed into.
We look forward to connecting with you! :)

More details about your skills
I have a mix of practical, creative, and people-focused skills that I’m excited to share:
- Helping people: I’ve worked in support and community roles, and I really enjoy making others feel comfortable and cared for. I'm currently working in a Disability Support role and love the challenges and joy this type of work brings.
- Hands-on work: Gardening, tidying, basic maintenance, organising spaces – I take pride in looking after places as if they’re my own.
- Cooking & hospitality: I enjoy cooking simple, tasty meals and helping create a welcoming environment.
- Creative & wellness skills: I’m completing my yoga teacher training and love sharing movement, meditation, and creative practices. Music, dance and paintingare also big parts of who I am.
- Professional background: I have a Masters Degree in Architecture and Diploma in Project Management. I’ve worked mostly in project management and planning roles, so I’m organised, reliable, and good at keeping things running smoothly.
- Languages: I’m a native English speaker and currently learning Spanish/ French – keen to practise!
I’m adaptable, quick to pick up new things, and happy to pitch in wherever I’m needed.

What else ...
We each have a loooot of Hobbies. Some shared, some more personal. Together we love hiking, swimming, surfing, being outdoors and exploring new places, cooking, and getting to laugh with others over stories
For me (Mel) my creative outlets are really important to me. I enjoy drawing in my sketchbook, playing guitar/ukelele, dancing, and singing (sometimes badly, but always with heart!).
I’m always up for a good board game night – favourites are Monopoly Deal, Uno, and anything that gets people laughing. I also love reading, especially stories that make me think or inspire adventure - I especially love Sci-fi and Murder Mysteries.
I’d describe myself as curious, playful, and easygoing. I’m happiest when I’m learning something new, connecting with others, or just sharing a simple moment of joy. I also love making people laugh and being silly.
And for me (Connor), my creative outlets are: music - playing my keyboard, learning and practicing new languages, bicycling, rockclimbing, reading (scifi/adventure, crime, or non-fiction to learn new things!), yoga, and a bit of watercolouring if my other interests allow time for it.
A new hobby of mine is photography although I do not currently have a camera and kit with me, and I am also a BIG tech nerd at heart - (techno and technology to be honest) - but I never let it interfere with being present with my environment and with people.
My career is within Project Management and I have experience with start-ups (specifically Agriculture), but all in all I am just here to breathe, connect, and carve purpose in myself and others lives. My social battery is extra EXTRA large and I never tire of being around people and sharing life experiences and stories.
