Description
I was very fortunate to be able to see a lot of the world already in my childhood, and traveling has taught me to truly appreciate what one has in life while opening my mind to new perspectives.
Over the past three years, I have spent every one of my vacations doing volunteer work abroad, because I realized how much more intensely you get to know the cultures and people while also doing something good.
After my last trip, I made the decision to travel the world as a volunteer for an open-ended period of time. To do this, I am putting my job in child and youth services as an educator on hold and following my heart out into the world. However, I cannot put my studies in social management on hold.
I enjoy physical work, especially when it involves animals. I love learning new skills and offer my help with great respect and openness toward everyone and everything. I am looking forward to meeting inspiring people and places and making my contribution. -

More details about your skills
I value a respectful and ethical approach to working with animals, especially dogs, and I truly enjoy hands-on, physical work. Through several volunteer projects, I’ve gained experience cleaning enclosures, shoveling (a lot of) animal dung, and working outdoors for long hours.
I’m comfortable using a machete and have helped with banana tree harvests, where stamina and perseverance were key.
I wouldn’t call myself a professional chef, but I can easily prepare fresh, healthy meals on a daily basis. I’m also happy to help around the house, naturally notice when tasks need doing, and enjoy keeping things running smoothly.
I’m confident using basic tools such as hammers, nails, saws, and drills, and I’ve already built and repaired various small projects. During one project, I was proudly awarded a certificate as the “Shovelling Queen” — a title I still wear with a smile.
Additionally, I have hands-on experience with plants, ranging from houseplant care and gardening to conservation work in nature. -

What else ...
I also have a small passion for martial arts and meditate regularly, which helps me stay grounded and present. I’ve been told that I’m someone people feel comfortable having deep, trusting conversations with — the kind that don’t happen every day. Hatred, negativity, or racism of any kind have no place in my life; I value openness, respect, and kindness toward everyone. I rarely drink alcohol, but I absolutely love interactive board and group games — and I’m said to be unbeatable at charades.

From the first introductory call, it was clear we would get along well. Communication was easy from the start, and Michael even shared project updates beforehand, which helped me know what to expect.
