Hello!

I am an enthusiastic 29-year-old looking for some more experience working the land - immersing myself in nature and learning more about how to live sustainably and self-sufficiently.

I have done a lot of community gardening and the odd-jobs that come with that, I've also done straw-bale building, building with cob, and animal care. My professional work experience is primarily in community work with grassroots sustainability-focused organisations and charities around Edinburgh.

My goal at some point is to have my own little area of land and have a garden to grow my own food (I currently have a windowsill full of lettuce and parsley in my flat), and ultimately build my own home from sustainable materials. I have also worked for cooperatives and been in a lot of intentional community living situations so I am keen to share and work towards a common goal with anyone I am working with!

I would love to experience life on a sustainably focused plot of land and I am planning a trip to Costa Rica to learn more about some of the wonderful sustainable projects going on over there.

I'm an outdoorsy animal lover and I have experience with children of all ages! I also love cycling, all things crafty (stained glass, knitting, silver smithing, painting), foraging and fermenting food!

I have done Workaways before in Canada and honestly had the time of my life on a hobby farm doing odd jobs and spending time with the family. I have also spent time on an organic farm in France tending to the veggies!

I currently work full time organising community events however I have a month off work and want to spend that time in Costa Rica! Over the past seven years I have worked with multiple environmental organisations doing communications, marketing, and events.

I am outdoorsy and love hiking, cycling, gardening, and caring for animals! I used to volunteer in an animal shelter and looked after animals on my last few workaways. I would love to work on a sustainable living project or anything involving the outdoors as it it would be great to learn more about how to live sustainably and be inspired by people who live that way.

I have childcare experience, having been a TEFL teacher for children aged 3-16 in a classroom environment, and teaching children aged 3-12 online. I've also worked with children and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. I've just qualified in CELTA as an ESOL lecturer so am able to teach English to adults too if the opportunity arises.

I've got the writing experience that comes with an arts degree, with experience in admin/secretarial work.

I am adaptable and always up for learning something new!
