Description
Hi everyone,
My name is Marlene, and I'm a French designer who recently spent two amazing years traveling and working across Canada, from the far East to the West Coast. After this beautiful adventure, I continued exploring with a three-month solo road trip across the United States, an experience that strengthened my adaptability, independence, resourcefulness and confidence.
During my time in Canada, I worked in cafés, bakeries and delis where I developed strong customer-service skills. I also worked in a top-rated bed and breakfast where attention to detail and high standards were essential. In an unusual lodge, I helped design the interior of a cabin and build wooden furniture, and later worked in a more traditional lodge where professionalism and teamwork were key.
I spent time with different families to discover everyday Canadian life, took part in home renovation projects such as turning a basement into a studio, and enjoyed many outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing and boat outings. I love learning new skills, whether manual, creative or cultural, and I always try to integrate myself naturally into my hosts’ lifestyle.
I’m a sociable, curious and easygoing person who loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. I enjoy exploring the outdoors, listening to music, and playing board games and puzzles. Growing up on a farm also gave me solid experience with outdoor manual work. I adapt quickly, enjoy taking initiative and work well both independently and with a team.
I’m open to new experiences, new environments and new ways of living, and I genuinely enjoy helping hosts with their projects, indoors or outdoors.
I hope we get the chance to meet and share meaningful moments together.
