Description
Hello there, I’m Marie and I’m curious to meet you! From time to time, I like to trade my desk for adventure, because ever since I got a "real" job I miss the magic of traveling. Originally based in anthropology and international cooperation, over the past years I have been looking for ways to engage more with nature and the outdoors rather than being stuck in offices and classrooms. I am particularly interested in learning more about different styles of farming and sustainable living. Besides, I am very fond of hiking and have recently started a training course to become a certified outdoor trainer – mountains just make me happy!
I'm eager to share everything I know and learn everything you know. I tried out many different things and would consider myself a quick learner. I’ve done workaways in Ireland and Spain doing gardening, painting and housework, worked on a sweet potato farm and in an Outback café in Australia, interned at a TV broadcast station and an NGO on intercultural communication, gained work experience in a library, a car factory, a small chocolate factory, and am now working on environmental and educational topics. Some would say there is no discernible common thread in my life, but I am just very curious about everything and follow my heart.
I am excited about working together with like-minded, but culturally diverse people, learning languages, going outside and exploring. I love meeting new people, learning about their culture and sharing interesting conversations, life stories, cooking skills, inspiring literature and good music. Every time returning home from traveling, I realise it was the people I met on my way who made my journey incredible, and I look forward to making more of these wonderful memories. I'm also really into languages and always up for a language exchange while traveling.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I look forward to meeting you!Interests
