  • Description

Hi! We’re Lydia and Gerald, a couple traveling through Latin America for several months with backpacks, curiosity, and big smiles.

I’m Lydia. I love traveling, cooking, eating (very important), and sharing moments around food. I also love singing — even if I’m not very good at it, I sing anyway and enjoy it! I’m a very social person and I love meeting new people, discovering new cultures, ways of thinking, living, and being.

Through Workaway, I’m looking for real human connections and new experiences. I’m happy to learn new manual skills, but I’ll admit it — my strongest skills are social ones! I love helping, sharing, laughing, and creating a good atmosphere.

And I’m Gerald. I’m calm and a bit shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, I really enjoy connecting with people. After working behind a desk for several years, this trip has been a big change for me and helped me rediscover manual work, which I truly enjoy. I love being creative, working with my hands, and seeing the concrete results of what I do. I also love animals and spending time with them, from chickens to dogs and everything in between.

Together, we’re motivated, positive, and always ready to help. Our manual skills are at an amateur level, but we learn fast, work with good energy, and take our commitments seriously. We see Workaway as a great way to exchange, learn, and share meaningful experiences while traveling.

  • More details about your skills

We think we have more social skills than manual skills. However, we arr curious and we learn quickly. We are not afraid of getting my hands dirty. Lydia has been making pottery for a few years and love it. She also love cook, my friends say I'm a pro. With few ingredients, I can make a feast. She is a social work. This is why she says that she has more social skills than manual.

Gerald worked in a bank. He is trying to learn from Lydia's social skill but otherwise a know how to use my hand and take his time to appreciate things. He love to learn and to exchange with people. He has some projects that is well designed in by dream and he is taking the time during the trip to design it in the real world.

At every place we feel home, we have cook a Congolese dish called Fufu. We know a little about gardening but not as permaculture pro haha.
