Hello everyone!

My name is Lize, I am currently 24 years old. In november 2026 I will be 25. I am an enthusiastic, optimistic and helping girl from Belgium and I love adventure.

I just gratuated from college and I am proud to say I am now a teacher in Mathematics and Geography. Apart from my internships and some studyhelp, I don't have professional teaching experience yet. I would absolutely love it if my Workaway experience would give me the opportunity to teach in different countries, but I am just as excited to learn completely new skills and experience new experiences. The type of work doesn't matter too much to me - as long as I'm able to contribute and learn.

Before I start my teaching career, I want to get to know the world a little better. I want to step ouside my little comfortable bubble in Belgium, not only by visiting countries but also experiencing different cultures and ways of life. That's why I want to Workaway again.

After gratuating from high school (now 8 ago), I also took a gap year during which I had amazing Workaway experiences. They taught me so much and helped me grow as a person. Before that, I also did some WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) in Sweden, where I gained a little experience with farm life.

During my travels, I've stayed on farms, where I helped care for animals, plants and the forest. I've also had experience in families where I helped in general maintenance and I looked after the children. Even when I didn't speak the same language as the child, it didn't hold back from the fun we had together. It taught me creative ways of comunitation. I also helped in a hostel.

I grew up on an old farm with donkeys, cats, pigs, chickens and other animals, so being around animals has always been an natural part of my life. Our house was also always attracting children, which is why I kind of grew up caring for other children, even if they were only a few years younger than me. I also recently became the proud godmother of my almost one-year-old niece.

I am very excited to start my new Workaway experience and feel all the different cultures, habits, people, languages and so much more.
