I enjoy quiet but meaningful experiences, meeting people from different cultures, and learning languages through everyday life.
I already spent a year abroad during Erasmus in Tenerife, and that experience changed me a lot. I discovered how much I like adapting to new environments and connecting with people naturally.

This summer I would like to leave Rome for a while, improve my English, and experience a different lifestyle and climate. I’m not looking for luxury or parties all the time; I’m happier in relaxed and genuine environments where people share meals, conversations and daily life together.

I’m an easygoing and respectful person, independent, curious, and happy to help where needed. I enjoy simple things: walking around new places, cooking together, listening to music, long conversations, nature, and feeling part of an international atmosphere.

I recently graduated in Sport Sciences from Foro Italico University in Rome. Over the past few years, I have gained several work and training experiences that have helped me develop good communication skills, adaptability, and a strong attitude towards teamwork.

I have worked as a waiter in different restaurants in Rome, handling table service and customer interaction in dynamic and often international environments. I also worked as a promoter for Adidas events, which helped me improve my interpersonal and organizational skills.

In the past, I worked as a mini-basketball coach for children and teenagers, an experience that taught me responsibility, patience, and how to manage groups.

I also had an Erasmus experience in Tenerife, where I lived for almost a year in an international and multicultural environment. During that time, I also completed an internship as a physical education teacher with students aged 5 to 17. This experience made me much more adaptable and open to different cultures and people.

I hold a BLSD certification and I am used to working in dynamic, people-oriented environments.

I consider myself a calm, reliable, respectful, and cooperative person. I adapt easily to shared living spaces and I enjoy contributing positively to the daily life and atmosphere of the place where I stay.

In my free time I enjoy a mix of active and social activities. I like sports and staying active, as well as spending time with people in relaxed and informal environments.

I enjoy playing and watching sports, going out in the evening, and sharing time with others through simple activities like board games or conversations. I also like videogames as a way to relax, especially in my free time.

Recently I have also been trying to read more, as I enjoy improving myself and discovering new topics at my own pace.

Overall, I enjoy both social and calm moments, depending on the situation, and I like being part of a friendly and easygoing environment.

I stayed with Lyse and Feri from 1 to 4 July 2026. Initially, I was planning to stay much longer, but after only three days I decided to leave because I did not feel comfortable with the communication and the overall atmosphere.
From the beginning, I felt that the expectations and the way of communicating were not aligned with what I was looking … read more for in a cultural exchange experience. During my short stay, I carried out physically demanding tasks, but I had some concerns regarding safety management and the way instructions were communicated, especially when using equipment that I had never used before.
After a working day, I stopped to rest after around five hours because I was physically tired. Afterwards, I received messages with a tone that I perceived as accusatory, including a warning that I would be sent away if I stopped working without informing them. I explained my point of view and that this type of communication was not what I expected from a volunteering experience.
During the discussion, I was also accused of inviting another female volunteer to take a shower with me and of inviting Lyse to go hiking. Both situations made me feel very uncomfortable. Regarding Lyse, I believe there was probably a misunderstanding due to the fact that my English is not perfect: during a conversation about the mountains and hiking possibilities in the area, my intention was simply to say that it would be nice to go hiking together with other people, not to make a personal invitation. Regarding the other volunteer, the accusation that I had invited her to take a shower with me never happened.
The same volunteer involved in the accusation, who had witnessed the situation, came to speak with me before my departure because she was sorry about what had happened. She explained that, being a shy person and receiving such an accusation unexpectedly, she did not immediately know how to react. She was the person during this experience who showed me the most understanding and kindness.
Regarding the accommodation, the room was not particularly clean when I arrived, and I had to tidy it up before putting away my belongings. The food provided was also not always sufficient after physically demanding working days, so I bought additional food at my own expense. Some of the facilities shown on the profile, such as the swimming pool and the gym, were not maintained to the standard I expected.
I was looking for an experience based on communication, cooperation, mutual respect, and cultural exchange, but unfortunately this experience was not the right fit for me.
Before leaving, I was also asked not to publish a negative review, explaining that since I did not have previous reviews, this could affect my profile. This request made me uncomfortable because I believe every volunteer should be able to honestly share their own experience.
This is my personal experience, and I hope it can be useful to other Workawayers when choosing their host
