Description
Hey, I'm Matthias.
I have just finished my teacher training and I am looking forward to gaining new experiences around the world. I enjoy spending time outdoors, preferably in the mountains or by the sea. I love snowboarding and have been surfing for seven years. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and doing meaningful work in small communities.
Hi I’m Lena,
I just have finished my bachelor's degree in environmental system science with an emphasis in economics. I am a very open-minded person and love to meet and get to know new people. I love to do sports and be physically active. I really enjoyed playing volleyball in a club for seven years in my hometown and in my spare time between working and studying I enjoyed bouldering in my local gym with friends. My goal for working and living abroad with the workaway project is to become a part of a community for our time being there and not only be a “visitor”. -

More details about your skills
Matthias:
I have worked in many different fields, especially tourism and hospitality. For the past couple of years, I have been working as a snowboard instructor in my hometown. I have also worked at two different surf camps as a guest/team manager, organising surf lessons, and providing for the well being of everyone involved. I have also worked as a sailing instructor at a children's summer camp. Having studied education, I really enjoy working with children and can provide pedagogical expertise. I am also happy to get my hands dirty and do manual work.
Lena:
Gladly all my previous job experiences were people related and I never had to sit in an office all day alone. Like a cliché I started working as a babysitter from the age of 14 where I gained my first experiences working with children. Following a one year career as a barista, although I lost quite a lot of my coffee making skills by now. My most rewarding three years I spent as a PE teacher in different primary schools in my hometown where I loved showing kids that movement is fun and at the same time healthy. Sadly, the project was cancelled, and my path has led to working in customer services in a prestigious shopping centre where I really learned that sometimes you need more patience and understanding for grown ups than for kids. Talking to new people and solving different problems in a 30-minute tact, has taught me a lot. Overall, I love working with people especially kids and I am not afraid of learning and new situations. -
