Description
Hello!
We are Jeremy & Laura, a couple who are looking to experience new cultures, meet people, and learn new skills! Jeremy is a 28 year old kiwi (New Zealander) and Laura is a 25 year old German. We met in Germany while Jeremy was volunteering and have been together for around a year now! We are now in Japan with working holiday visas and eager to imbrace Japanese culture!
Why We Want to Workaway:
We are interested in Workaway as it offers a great opportunity for us to immerse ourselves in new cultures (share our own) and learn new skills. We’re excited about the chance to work on a variety of projects, while also learning from others. We would love to make new friends and memories with a variety of people around the world.
Cultural Exchange and Learning:
We are passionate about cultural exchange and love sharing our own culture while learning about others. Whether it’s cooking a traditional meal from our home country, teaching a few words in our native language, or sharing stories from our travels, we are eager to connect with our hosts on a personal level.
Availability:
We are currently cat sitting in Yokohama and will be here until the 5th of August. After this we are free to travel/volunteer throughout japan until we fly out on the 28th of October from Narita.
Why You’ll Love Hosting Us:
We are enthusiastic, responsible, easygoing, and tidy. We approach every task with a positive attitude and are committed to making sure our hosts have a great experience with us.
Looking Forward to Meeting You!
We’re excited about the possibility of sharing a slice of life with you and learning from the experience. If you think we’d be a good fit, we’d love to chat more and see how we can help. Thank you for considering us, and we hope to meet you soon!
Kind regards,
Jeremy & Laura

More details about your skills
Jeremy:
I worked for three years as a Transport Consultant before quitting to travel. My responsibilities included managing compliance for non-standard vehicles, conducting accident investigations, webapp development and training new graduates. Before my professional engineering career, I gained experience and skills as a manual labourer (building fences and operating machinery), as a cellar hand, and as a repair technician (audio equipment).
Laura
I enjoy hands-on work and grew up helping my father with many practical projects such as building furniture, garden sheds, birdhouses, and fixing cars. I also enjoy gardening and spent a lot of time helping my mother in the garden growing up. Together with my boyfriend Jeremy, I’ve also completed several Workaway projects doing a variety of practical tasks and learning new skills along the way.
I also have experience in customer service, office work, hospitality, and working at events and concerts, which has helped me become adaptable, organized, and confident working with all kinds of people. I’m hardworking, reliable, and always motivated to learn new things and give every task my best effort.
Together, we make a great team capable of handling a wide range of tasks. We’re quick learners and happy to take on new challenges, whether it’s hands-on physical tasks or professional work. -

Personal Interests: I like to listen to a variety of music and am trying to teach myself guitar. For exercise, I enjoy bouldering and nature walks. I have a passion for DIY projects that span across 3D printing, audio systems, musical instruments, and much more. Recently I am very much into photography.
Laura
In my free time I enjoy drawing, reading, vegan cooking and baking. I also love being outdoors and hiking. I also haven't really travelled much in my life yet, so I'm excited to explore new places, experience different cultures, and meet people from all walks of life. -
