Hello ☀️

I'm Karen, 29 years old, and I come from France.

I'm passionate about international exchanges. My end of studies internship in Ireland led me to work in the field of international cooperation and mobility. I have been working in the international office of a university for 5 years. In 2021-2022, I had the chance to take a gap year in Iceland where I volunteered for an NGO as project assistant.

Besides work, I'm volunteering for a Belgian NGO, where my role is to organize and animate orientations for incoming and outgoing high school students. I'm taking Italian lessons each week (beginner level). In my free time, I love hiking in nature and taking pictures of landscapes.

I love travelling, discovering new places, meeting people and trying local food. I'm always interested in getting new experiences and getting out of my comfort zone.

In 2023, I had the chance to volunteer in Norway through Workaway and my role was mainly to work in a garden, where I was picking berries. I loved the cultural exchange and I would like to continue exploring Europe while helping my hosts and learning about their country and culture!

I'm happy to help with animal care (I love animals!), outdoor activities, cleaning/organizing, or anything else. I would also be happy to learn new skills!

I would describe myself as organized, reliable, positive and easy going.

I have a bachelor degree in Languages and History and a Master degree in Tourism Management. I have some years of experience in administrative work and I have managed the social media accounts of an NGO for a year - I am able to create and plan posts for a professional account.

I have had experiences in catering:
- When I was a student, I had a summer job in school catering, my role was to serve pupils, wash dishes and maintain the place clean.
- In Florli4444, Norway, in July 2023, where I was volunteering and helping out in the café to clean dishes and tables.

I have had experiences in tourism:
- As a student, I have worked in a small theme park, welcoming guests and taking care of the attractions.
- I worked in a tour operator and travel agency, dealing with bookings, programmes and travel documents.

I also had the chance to do my first Workaway in Norway in 2023, and my task was mainly to pick berries in a garden.

I'd be happy to help out with indoor and outdoor tasks and to develop new skills! I love animals and I'd love to take care of dogs or cats.
