I'm open to new things. I'm going through an identity shift, so much of the old me has fallen away and I am creating space for new things.

  • Description

My name is Kyle, and I am excited to be back on Workaway, setting off for new adventures! I recently wrapped up a long chapter in Hawaii; I was a teppanyaki chef for the last two and a half years! I'm looking to continue discovering new ideas, new skills, new friendships and new ways to offer my energy in service. I consider myself "spiritual" but I am not rigorous in spiritual practice, although I have a lot of knowledge that I can and have shared on the subject. I've adopted an outlook more rooted in acceptance rather than striving when it comes to spirituality. This acceptance outlook has helped me to heal parts of myself and understand other people more. I enjoy being around people who are open minded and kind hearted, although I can get along with most everyone.

I like working with my hands, working with a team, sharing ideas for projects, and gaining experience that I can apply in my endeavors. I enjoy a healthy amount of physical labor, especially when it contributes to the creation of something meaningful. I would like to develop more artistic skills like painting and photography (I do have a nice camera, perhaps we can create some lovely photos of your project).

I have some skill with concrete, very basic carpentry, working with various tools for small repairs, digging, composting, soil work, planting and gardening and some volunteer management and scheduling. I also have quite some experience in Yoga and Martial Arts but these two skills are a bit out of practice. I've worked in construction, junk removal, fence building, permaculture farms, and land management (mostly running a chainsaw to remove invasive trees and to clean up dense areas.)

I aspire to create balance in my life, and honestly I'm still discovering what that looks like for me. I am quite easygoing and empathetic, and I encourage those around me to show consideration and compassion for one another. I'm really excited for the opportunity to explore some new communities, learn some new skills and contribute my knowledge and skills in a creative and fun way! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about me! Thanks for visiting my profile! 🤙🙏✌️

    - Residential Fence Building

    -Psychology (non accredited)
I have worked in construction and manual labor for over 8 years. I have a lot of experience mixing and pouring concrete, quite a bit of fence building, moving furniture and clearing out junk and debris from various properties. I was a grout technician for several years, using heavy equipment to lift buildings and bridges through the introduction of high pressure concrete mixtures. Because of this work, I have a great capacity to navigate through complex problems to find solutions, work through hardship and learn new skills on the fly. I enjoy exploring different movement modalities; I studied Kung Fu in China for one year, meditation practices, Hatha Yoga in India, acrobatics and parkour as well. I have engaged with different philosophical thinking systems, personal development and self awareness practices. I'm perfectly capable of most tasks that would be required of me, whether it be gardening, landscaping, basic building or learning more advanced building, concrete work or even just clearing of spaces for future work. Anything I am not capable of, I would be overjoyed to learn about and improve my skills!
