I'm a mum, a teacher, a house owner and someone who loves the nature, gardening, dancing, exploring new cultures and languages and good conversations with my friends and people I don't know yet. Normally, I get along with everybody, I'm talkative, active, independent and I easily adapt to different habits and situations. Although I like company, I know how to respect others' needs and as a Finn I know how to enjoy the silence, too:) I love my work as a language teacher and really like working with children and teenagers.
Being a single mum of three children (13, soon 17 and 20 years) is not always easy, but therefore I'm hard working, good at organizing and running the household by myself and quite inventive how to manage the life of four with not much help and not much money. We have a house of our own a bit on a countryside, but quite near a bigger town. I've started to build my garden from scratch and after four years it's starting to look quite nice in the summer. We are a multicultural family, the father of my children is French and both me and my children speak French fluently. Otherwise, I've lived in France and Germany and travelled enough to be flexible when needed. Through my experiences abroad I also speak German, Swedish and English fluently, I'm eagerly learning Norwegian and trying to learn Islandic aswell (although it's a bit difficult at times). I know the basics of Spanish, too, but can't run a conversation for a long time:)
The reason why I wanted to join Workaway is that my children travel at least every summer to their father for two weeks and during that time I'd like to do something nice by myself. Since travelling alone is not one of my favourites I thought a Workaway could be the answer of having an adventure but meeting people at the same time. I know I'm not young anymore, but there are lots of things I can do and I always do my best whatever I have to do. I'm not very good at carpentering, but I'm able to help if somebody shows me what to do. Otherwise, I'm for example able to help in the garden, with house chores, with children, with animals, with teaching the languages I know or anything what there is to do.
My first Workaway in Norway last summer was amazing and I'm looking forward to new adventures in the summer 2026! Currently looking for a Workaway in Iceland to realize one dream of mine:)Interests

I have my driving license, but I haven't driven a car for ages so I definitely am not able to drive at the moment.Age

What else ...
I enjoy hiking and being outside, but I also like evenings at home cooking together or playing board games, for exemple. I'm eager to know other cultures and languages.
