Profile information

Description
Hi! I’m Kacey, a final-year Teacher Education student looking for a meaningful Workaway placement in March as part of my Alternative Practicum. I’m motivated by learning through relationships, place, and culture, animals, nature, and I’m especially drawn to opportunities that involve Indigenous knowledge, community learning, education, or land-based practices.
I’m Indigenous (Tuscarora from Ontario, Canada) and passionate about culturally responsive teaching, decolonization, and accessibility in education. What brings me the most happiness is learning with others, sharing stories, being outdoors with animals, and contributing to communities in ways that are respectful and reciprocal.
I’m adaptable, reflective, and happy to help with teaching support, childcare, arts-based activities, language or literacy work, livestock responsibilities or everyday community tasks. I’m travelling not just to see new places, but to deepen my understanding of how people live, learn, and care for one another.
I’m new to Workaway but bring experience in education, community spaces, cultural projects, and am a quick learner, and I’m excited to learn from hosts and fellow Workawayers along the way.
