    Description

Our community is led by Director Gordon, who has a keen interest in puppets, carnivals, and abstract art. After traveling the world for several years, visiting festivals, and scouting community projects, he has been inspired by Seattle’s Fremont Solstice and Nevada’s Burning Man festival. Gordon aims to bring the ideas and inspirations he gathered from these experiences to life within our Community.

The highlight of our community is the Parade, held on the second Saturday of October. This vibrant festival brings diverse entertainment and joy to the community, drawing tens of thousands of participants each year. It includes a lively parade with decorated floats, Capoeira, various dance groups, community teams, stilt walkers, samba dance, and samba drumming, with teams joining from across Taiwan. The event aims to promote art and culture, enhance community cohesion, and convey the passion and dreams of its participants.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us in creating the Parade, Taiwan's largest and most unique community carnival! This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Taiwanese culture through art, creativity, and community life while working alongside local residents, international volunteers, and our resident Balinese artists.

During your stay, you may help with giant puppet making, float construction, costume making, painting, decorations, prop building, and other preparations for the Parade. Depending on your interests and skills, you may also have opportunities to contribute to photography, videography, or other creative projects.

When the parade takes place, you will become an integral part of the Parade. You'll celebrate alongside thousands of participants and visitors, experience the excitement of one of Taiwan's most unique community festivals, and see the incredible creations that you helped bring to life.
