Description
I am 22 years old and a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo college graduate. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management and Protection with a Minor in Sustainable Environments. I grew up in a small town in the Sierra Foothills of California, USA. I love everything about the outdoors, especially the ocean and mountains. I have much experience with outdoor work such as campground work, eco-tourism, and ranch hand work. I also have tons of experience in the customer service industry as well as experiences working with all sorts of animals (dogs, cats, horses, etc...). A few of my hobbies include white water rafting, fire spinning, horseback riding, competitive line dancing, teaching dance, hiking/backpacking, and scuba diving. As you can see, I am a bit of an adrenaline junky. I am interested in travelling and working abroad in the UK and Europe for a year post-college graduation.
I have been living in the UK via workaway since June 2025. I am currently looking for a family to live with in February of 2026 near to Edinburgh, as I have completely fallen in love with the city, before heading to the south of England in March. I plan to head back home to the US in the springtime of 2026, but my plans are ever-changing and nowhere near set in stone! I would love to find someone to travel parts of Europe with me , as well as someone to do day trips and little adventures with while I am in the UK. When it comes to hosts, I am looking for work that involves horses or other animals, children, sustainability, or customer service (family-run business type of thing). I am also looking for a family interested in cultural exchange and looking to take me in as a part of the family - I am quite good at easily molding into different ways of life!
I have been told that I am extremely optimistic and out-going, and that I have an incredible work ethic. As my major and minor will tell, I firmly believe that working in and with the environment is the best line of work. I have big goals to work with energy conservation, ecosystem management and restoration, and sustainability practices. This is my first time across the Atlantic and I have already fallen in love with life outside of the US. I am extremely excited to continue my adventure halfway around the globe from my home and experience environmental work outside of the United States. I look forward to getting to know my host and entering the work force in another beautiful country.

What else ...
I am looking for a few things from a workaway exchange. Firstly, I LOVE to travel, and I want to visit so many different parts of the world. The workaway program will allow me to travel to many different places, while also meeting locals and experiencing the true culture of each country I visit. When I travel, I don't necessarily like to do all of the "touristy" things, instead I like to be immersed into the culture of each country and really see what life is like there. My friends, peers, and family often label me as a "workaholic," so doing a workaway will be incredibly good for me because I can travel and still continue to work. I am looking forward to working in a new country while also being able to explore and find new adventures on my days off. I am looking for more of a family-owned business or campground to work for, as outdoor experience and education work are what I see as my calling in life.
