  • Description

    Hi

My name is Josue, but I am also known as Josh by most people. I am from the state of Texas (yes, cowboy country) and am a devote Christian. I grew up in a border city, which allowed me to be constantly exposed to two languages, and as a result, I am bilingual (English/Spanish). Overall, I am just a guy in my youth that wants to explore and understand world cultures first hand as early in life as possible. Although I enjoy learning about world cultures, I have become most attracted to the Japanese culture. Ever since my childhood, Japan has always had a special place in my heart. I love the respect Japanese culture gives to nature, order, and honorable behavior. As of the writing of this description, this is my first time participating in the WorkAway program, and I am most excited to be apart of this community. In conclusion, I consider myself to be quite an adventurous person. However, I have not received the opportunity to truly fulfill my desires to manifest this adventurous spirit. Or at least not until now.

  • More details about your skills

I would like to first state that I am a young university student. So, I am not old enough to say that I have experienced everything in life. However, I do have some skills that may be very helpful for those who may inquire of them. To begin, I am bilingual. I can speak both English and Spanish, and I am willing to teach these languages to some minor degree through conversations. I am also on the very early stages of learning Japanese, and hope to reach at least an intermediate level sometime next year. I study remotely, which has allowed me to become very accustomed to working around the house. Therefore, I know how to cook basic meals, and do so almost every day for me and my family. I also have two cats and two dogs, so I have good experience with interacting with and handling pets. Additionally, I am actively involved in supporting my church, which has given me plenty of opportunities and experience doing volunteer and charity work. This type of work includes: helping around the church cafe, being positioned as security for children based events, tending to community needs, working with basic backstage technology, and being an active member of the churches ministry of puppeteering for children and the elderly. Although miniscule, these are some of my basic skills that come to mind. However, I am constantly willing to gain new skills by participating in new learning experiences.

  • What else ...

As for my hobbies, they can be rather unusual for my age. I have always liked to frequently read and do research on geopolitical events, history, and various health related topics. I focus a lot on making ideal health choices and eating organic food. Additionally, I am very open to learning self-sufficient methods of living life, maintaining and building houses, and learning about organic gardening and farming techniques. I also do plenty of Christian based studies on my own time, and am very willing to teach others about my faith.
