    Description

We are a fully licensed private dog shelter and neutering programme located near Dryanovo, Bulgaria. Our dogs are cage free and we do daily pack walks of up to 40 dogs. Dog behaviour and training is at the forefront of our rescue so that we can match the right dogs to the right people when rehoming the dogs. We expect our volunteers to get involved with training and walking dogs. Full training and support will be given depending on your experience.
We also regularly go out catching street dogs using approved, humane techniques. Help with this is often required,.
We are located in the mountains with panoramic views. The air is clean and we are free to roam in the fields and forest. We have two horses which can be ridden, 13 chickens and two pigs. They are all rescues and love people.

We are 7.5 km away from the nearest town. Push bikes are available for volunteers use and if we are going out then we can take you to the shops.

We have lots of ongoing building projects and future plans to make better accommodation for the dogs. We have all equipment and material required, just a lack of time!

We are also passionate about education and in conjunction with an English language school we have open days and education days for local children.

We live in a rural area with lots of Bulgarian traditions such as making Rakia in our village, growing vegetables and speaking a foreign language. Our neutering programme involves engaging with the local community. We aim to lead by example and educate about animal welfare and neutering. Volunteers are welcome to get involved with this and local initiatives.

  • Help

    Help

We are a working dog shelter and desperate for help with building and maintenance within the shelter and volunteer accommodation areas. We are planning to build new log cabins for the dogs as well as fencing pens. We are also going to be renovating an old barn to be used as an education centre.
Our shelter is ever evolving so we would also welcome people with skills such as carpentry, building and electricians. If you are a dog lover you can also spend some time with the dogs but this is not essential. You will be working in areas where there are dogs so would need to feel comfortable around them.
