Description
We love exploring, visiting new places, and learning about other cultures. When Scott retired in 2022, we started traveling around North America.
For 2027 (roughly April through October), we would like language learning in Quebec, as well as culture exposure.
We are hoping to do most tasks with at least some interaction with locals to help with our language skills. But as French beginners we will need some repeating in English or using a translation app.
We are interested in a wide varieties of things.
We do a lot of “from scratch cooking”, including dishes from other cultures.
We focus on eating whole, minimal processed foods, close to how as it comes from the ground or animals, preferable grown in a more natural regenerative environment.
We have done some fermenting and canning and would be interested in doing more of this.
We love animals - we have had several cats and dogs, and have petted or given treats to several other animals.
We are fine to help with childcare or household tasks and occasional DIY projects. We have a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds, for the sake of brevity, we are not mentioning them all here.
We are mostly looking for tasks with some interactions with locals so we can learn French.
We travel in our towable camper. The camper is 27.5’ (about 9 meters) long, end to end and 8.5’ (about 3 meters) wide. It has a full kitchen and bathroom. We prefer to stay in the camper. If we have access to water, sewer dump, and electricity that is fine, but if needed we can transport waste water and fresh water from a nearby dump station and use a generator to recharge our batteries (a few hours every few days). We have a 4x4 pickup truck.

We have a self contained all season travel trailer we would stay in. It is useful to have access to potable water, a place to dump tanks, and electricity but we are also setup to manage these on our own.
