  • Description

Hi, I’m Isabelle – lovely to meet you!
I’m a passionate traveler with Germany as my home base, though I’ve spent the past five years exploring the world while working remotely as a content creator. My journey has taken me across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia, where I’ve written for websites, blogs, and clients on a wide range of topics. Writing, traveling, music, socializing, and embracing new experiences are what make me happiest.
Before my travels, I studied applied linguistics and worked in marketing. Eventually, I sold everything I owned to follow my dream of seeing the world – and I haven’t looked back since. To support my adventures, I built a successful freelance career as an editor, author, and copywriter. Along the way, I’ve also taken on a variety of hands-on jobs – from waitressing, pet sitting, and volunteering in hostels to helping with harvests, construction, painting, and even working at a post office.
I thrive on new challenges and love diving into different kinds of work and environments. For me, every opportunity is a chance to discover something new, meet great people, and make the most of life. That’s why I’m excited to see what comes next and where the road will take me.

  • More details about your skills

I studied German and English and now work as a freelance editor, author, and copywriter. My projects range from writing blog posts and website content to full edits of both fiction and non-fiction books. I also handle translations, proofreading, research, and website structuring. Earlier this year, I published my own novel, which was a huge milestone for me. My background in marketing has additionally given me skills in design, website building, and social media management.

Alongside my freelance work, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on experience in hospitality. I’ve worked in cafés, restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, and hostels, where I welcomed guests, took orders, managed reception, prepared food, mixed drinks, drafted beer, blended smoothies, handled payments, and kept everything clean and running smoothly. I’ve also done different cleaning jobs (housekeeping, window cleaning), construction work (painting, fence building, house renovations), housesitting (caring for dogs, cats, and turtles), entertainment (pub crawls, games nights, social events) and outdoor tasks like harvesting and gardening.

On top of that, I’ve picked up a mix of more and less practical skills along the way: I can drive a manual car, organize just about anything, and stay calm under pressure with quick problem-solving. I can braid hair like a pro, magically make a book appear from my bag at any time, adapt to almost any situation (from 20-bed dorms with more spiders than people to running low on water while hiking solo through Jordan’s desert). Plus, I’m surprisingly good at unicycling, foosball, and Dr. Mario – and I firmly believe I see the color green more vividly than most people – because honestly, why isn’t everyone raving about it all the time?

  • What else ...

Travelling: I’ve been on the road since October 2020. I started out during the pandemic, volunteering for months in a hostel in Portugal, then spent half a year living in magical Mexico. I road-tripped through the U.S. with my best friend in a car far too small for two people, rode a motorbike solo through northern Vietnam, stepped inside the Great Pyramids of Egypt, and somehow survived as a vegetarian in Japan. I’ve hitchhiked across Australia, gone to ten festivals in a single year (and even worked at some), and visited countless beautiful places along the way.

Adventures: After recovering from a complicated broken leg years ago, I promised myself never to take movement for granted again. If I’m not working, I’m usually out exploring – whether it’s hiking through greenery, climbing mountains, wandering new cities, trying out different sports, or simply saying “yes” to whatever adventure comes my way.

Books: I’m a true book nerd. I studied German and English, but I had already read most of the required texts for university back in high school. I always carry a book with me, have edited more than a dozen, and even published my own this year. And I share a pact with a friend: whoever wins the lottery first must use the money to get us entry into The Walker Library of the History of Human Imagination.
