Hi there! My name is Ilaria and I'm a sociable and curious person with a deep passion for diverse cultures.

During my studies, I spent 4 years living and working in France, where I obtained a Master's degree specializing in autism.
Subsequently, I spent another 4 years working in the field of autism in Argentina.
Since 2018, I've been back in Italy where I've also been involved in refugee care and coordinating an educational team at a reception center.

I have been volunteering and supervising at a Hostel in Sliema, Malta, from July 2024 to January 2025. It has been an unforgettable and beautiful experience.

I'm eager to further develop my skills in the tourism hospitality industry, immerse myself in cross-cultural experiences, and discover new corners of the world.

I would describe myself as an enthusiastic, considerate and open-minded individual.

I have a passion for foreign languages, enjoy helping others with a smile on my face and like taking care of animals (I often house-sit/pet-sit for friends and family members). I particularly enjoy being around foreign people.

I love being in nature, especially by the sea, and enjoy photography and drawing. Music is another passion of mine (especially samba and all kind of brazilian music), and I take singing lessons in my free time.

My greatest motivation is, without a doubt, to explore new corners of the world, learn new things and broaden my perspectives through experience.

During my university years, I worked in the hospitality and catering sector as a waitress, dining room manager and kitchen assistant in a restaurant and a beach club in northern Italy.
I also worked for over 10 years in the social sector, in the field of disability and refugees assistance, both as an educator and as a team coordinator.
Recently, I volunteered for a few months at a school that teaches italian to asylum seekers.

I love working with people, whose needs I enjoy understanding. I know how to handle requests and complaints, ank like to find creative solutions. I can also manage conflicts with patience and motivate others toward a common goal.

I've lived abroad for a long time and this has taught me flexibility and to adapt to different circumstances.

I have good communication skills, both oral and written (I recently wrote a thesis for a friend as an "extra gig").

I am fluent in French and Spanish (DELF C1 certification from "Instituto Cervantes") and have a good level of English, which I would like to improve. I understand Portuguese and speak it at a beginner level. I enjoy all activities that involve foreign languages.

I'm comfortable using computers: I am proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and in using email, search engines, and other common computer applications.

I'm good at photography and drawing.

I can also cook some dishes (like italian pastas, argentinian empanadas, chicken curry...). Even though cooking is not among my favourite activities, I find it very funny if shared with others.
