Description
We have a property with a cat and friendly travelers. We're set on 1 acre of tropical gardens in the middle of beautiful Hervey Bay and only a five minute walk to the beach, cafes and bars.
Help is around our private home/cleaning/ gardening 2-3 hours (usually only 2) 5 mornings per week in exchange for free board, wifi, laundry and discounted tours in the area, which includes Kgari Island and whale watching. We ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks. We can also help you find other paid work in local cafes and restaurants if you're interested.
Our on going project is to monitor our Solar energy production and usage, extensive recycling and compost. We'd love to have you here sharing with us and help us to make this dream possible.
If you enjoy a peaceful, laidback lifestyle with access to beautiful beaches and some of Australia's most unique environments and wildlife, then we'd love to hear from you!

Hervey Bay is a laid back nature and wildlife lovers haven. Take time to visit K'Gari (Fraser Island), Lady Elliot Island and See Humpback whales between July and October.

I stayed at the woodshed shed eco lodge for 1 month and i would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a calm place to regroup for a bit.
The work itself was quite simple. Meg &brent ask you to clean the bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen 5 days a week in the mornings. You can also find a job on the side.

I spend about 4 month here.
It located near beach and there are some groceries, bar, cafe, restaurant and shopping mall, so it's easy to go anywhere.
I'm not much of a talkertive person, but enjoyed communicating and I really cherish the times I got to chat with Meg, Brent and everyone from Workaway.

Staying with Meg and Brent was wonderful. Housekeeping in the morning for two to three hours, shared between 3 people was fair and straightforward work. The accommodation is so pretty and everyone was friendly and I was made to feel at home.hervey bay is lovely, cycling down the font and seeing the whales was a dream. Great experience.
