Description
I’m a bit of a biology/ecology/zoology nerd, studying as many nature related subjects in my schooling as I could, and I hope to make a career out of these interests. I currently don’t have a-lot of experience in these areas – both in tertiary education, and hands on involvement, which is why I want to learn more about any part of it I can.
I also want to do some travelling, so I decided that I wanted to explore the idea of a 12 month working holiday in Ireland. I love the landscape, and the culture, and fell in love with the idea of immersing myself in whatever nature based volunteer work I could do abroad.
I mainly have a background in customer service/hospitality, with a bit of warehouse labor work. However, within the last 1 and 1/2 years, I have transitioned into a retail role at a pet store that has given me an excellent foundational understanding of practical pet nutrition, wellbeing/enrichment and basic healthcare.

More details about your skills
I have experience in hospitality, retail, warehouse work, customer service, stock handling, food preparation, cleaning, and general team-based work. I’m reliable, adaptable, and happy to help with hands-on tasks, working with people, learning new skills, and fitting into different environments quickly. I also have some animal care knowledge through having various pets, as well as working in pet retail where we completed digital training and practical training on a large scope of pet welfare.

What else ...
I enjoy animals, nature, travel, and learning through new experiences. I’m especially interested in wildlife, conservation, and spending time outdoors, which is a big part of why I’m drawn to this kind of travel and work exchange. I also have a strong interest in Dungeons & Dragons, creativity, and Celtic paganism, and I enjoy exploring ideas, stories, history, and traditions that give me a deeper connection to people and place. I value personal growth, meaningful conversation, and stepping outside my comfort zone to learn practical life skills. I’m generally easygoing, friendly, and happy to contribute to a positive shared environment.
