    Hola comunidad workaway!
    Solo traveller here 👋

I’ve just begun my adventure across Mexico and beyond which I couldn’t be more excited about. I’ve had volunteering on my mind prior to planning this trip and just seeing all the opportunities around makes me feel grateful and fortunate in being able to find new and exciting ways to continue exploring this beautiful country.

Being such an adventurous person I’d be open to almost anything…
The outdoors and nature mean so much to me, I grew up in the countryside just outside of London and spent my whole childhood outdoors playing sports, exploring the surroundings, digging in the dirt (I like to get my hands dirty!) - a desire of mine is to take part in an archaeological dig.
I was fortunate enough live a few hundred metres from an apple orchard where as a teenager I would often help out on weekends with harvesting apples by hand, sorting and inspecting them, I used to absolutely love it! I’ve also visited many vineyards over the years and working on one would be awesome.
I’d love to be somewhere remote, away from tourists… during downtime enjoying peace and quiet whilst watching a sunrise/set or laying down stargazing are some of life’s finest pleasures - seeing the Perseid meteor shower was one of my highlights of last year!

I’ve spent about a year of my winter life working in the beautiful French alps, mostly in chalets as a chef or host. They are definitely up there with the best experiences of my life as for me the lifestyle is glorious, skiing and snowboarding might just be my favourite activities! I had two jobs out there working as a chef so have solid experience with cooking. The other roles as a chalet host require cooking but also general hospitality, housekeeping and DIY.
The food out here in Mexico has been a joy to dig into, I’d love to be taught how to make some of the classic dishes!
I worked at primary school for 2 years (boys and girls ages 3-13) - teaching sport, art & Design Technology. Every single day was so rewarding witnessing the children develop and it’s a sector I’m going to pursue when I return from my travels as I love working with children and teaching sport! Sport takes up a load of my time whether it’s playing or watching, I’m very competitive.
Also babysat on and off for 3 years (Age 6-9).
One of my first jobs was working as a landscaper/gofer where I learnt so much - my responsibilities ranged from gardening to painting to plastering.
Before I flew out to Mexico I was working as a manager of operations in a warehouse for a business management company - the role has developed my IT skills even further.

Having worked in many different sectors I’ve become a very flexible individual when it comes to new environments and adaptability. A jack of all trades springs to mind! As I’ve been relying on myself since a young ago I feel great about being given important responsibilities, I’m always eager to become a valued, useful member of a team which I’m always confident in having the time, will and skills to do so.

I’m also a big lover of all animals small and large! Especially dogs which I’ve grown up with, I’ve always said getting chickens will be one of the first things I do when I get my own property.
If it were to come in handy I also have a driving licence.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to meeting you and beginning a new chapter!

Being fluent in English I’d love to be able to pass on and share the language with others through a teaching environment or just socially! I ‘m also very keen on becoming competent with Spanish speaking as I’m about to head to South America for a year of travel. The plan is to complete a two week Spanish speaking course upon arrival, I’d be very grateful getting any more help following this.
