Description
Kia ora Workaway! We’re a couple from Aotearoa, New Zealand taking a year off from work to explore the world - something that is usually a bit tricky from our far flung island. I (Grace) am a doctor with a love of reading and writing short fiction, which I am hoping to cultivate in my time off. Carter shares this love of literature as an English major and has most recently been working as a hiking guide. Other shared interests include hiking and generally being out in nature, climbing, surfing (poorly), meditation, cooking, board games, art, music, and history.
To start our trip abroad we have walked the Pacific Crest Trail (a 2650 mile trail in the USA between the Mexican and Canadian borders), finishing this up September 2025. We are excited to see the east coast of the USA next before heading down to Central and South America, then hopefully across to Europe. As well as soaking in culture and seeking adventure, we are also hoping to learn more about sustainable living and living in community through our Workaway experiences. We can bring to the table: experience in cleaning and childcare (Grace), some experience with landscaping and working on a flower farm (Carter), decent Spanish (Carts), high school French (Grace), a bank of Ottolenghi recipes, a love of conversation, and a good work ethic. We can’t wait to meet some of you wonderful Workaway hosts out there!

Carter has fairly decent Spanish and I (Grace) am a beginner - we are both interested in levelling up! Carter can also speak conversational German, I have some high school French, and we both can speak basic Te Reo Māori.
